Depression as suppression of your gifts

Depression as suppression of your gifts

I had a great healing session with my Body Talk practitioner. I’ve been a little disconnected from myself and my feelings lately and needed a good cry to move some stuck energy. Know what I mean?

My body reminded me that suppression of my gifts leads to depression. I’ve been ‘shoulding’ all over myself for not being able to move forward in certain ways.

Feeling down is a call to come home to remember who we are, to connect deeply with our current self, and if we can’t, then to enlist support of trusted others.

It hurts people not to use their gifts in a fuller way, to play small and hide. Not to be received and reflected when what we offer is useful and important.

It’s important to pause, to go to our feelings, for they will take us somewhere new. With support, we can get our bearings. New territory will open for us.

I’m opening up to new opportunities to serve with my gifts, seeing that a fixed idea of how it was supposed to look was narrowing down greater possibility. I’m letting that go, so what’s meant to be can find me available to more life.

Wishing the same on your journey!
