Healing Art + Energy Healing

A few weeks ago Pachamama grabbed me a bit too hard for a hug, brought me down to the ground. So now I’m healing up from a fractured left fibula, rebuilding a stronger base for stability and support.

According to Ash Stinson and her Energy Archaeology, the fibula (and tibia in the lower legs, and radius and ulna in the forearms) are bones of Co-creation. They modulate energy coming from the outside in towards the long bones, the femur in the thighs and the humerus in the upper arms, where Integration for the whole system happens.

This fits, as my accident happened halfway through The Infinite Artist course led by visionary artist Kim Krans. It’s all about tapping into The Shaman and The Artist archetypes to create from a non-ego place, co-creating with something beyond us.

Our main practice is a specific walking meditation, so the before and after are hilarious. Imagine me blissfully unaware before the fall, and lurching around like a zombie in my walking boot after the fall.

My accident came right after relearning that Integration only happens with Embodiment. And days after talking with my young relative, a disability activist and carer, about how the disability community is a huge spectrum if we include mental health too. We all are disabled and differently abled at some point in our lives.

I feel mostly lucky that it’s not worse.

So I’ve been doing the medical things: ER, orthopedic doc, ibuprofen, ice, elevation, physical therapy soon. And the holistic things: rest, Traumeel, homeopathics, acupuncture, energy healing, art making.

Above is the digital collage I made to remind me to pour rose gold energy into the fractures for physical healing. Like the Japanese art of mending broken pottery, kintsugi. They use resin and gold leaf to highlight the mend, not hide it. I imagine the tissues and bone mending perfectly, to become even stronger than before.

I share this as an example of how we can be powerful in participating in our own healing: using imagination and art, incantations, affirmations, storytelling, visualizations, rituals.

How do you take part in your own physical healing? Let me know.
