Creating with the Ancestors:

a circle for healing +art

At Mid-Autumn the veil between the living and the beloved dead is thin. The Ancestors come close to be remembered, honored, and to help us to carry on their best legacies.

In this virtual 3-part series, we will gather to connect with bloodline Ancestors and cultural Ancestors, then create collages inspired by them. We’ll share what we’ve harvested to spur each other onward.

Kimiko Kawabori and I are teaming up to lead this vibrant circle. Kimiko is my most excellent Ancestral Healing guide at Origins Within, She’s helped me restore and celebrate my bloodline connections. I will be the group facilitator and artist healer here.

We’re all ghosts. We all carry, inside us, people who came before us.

ALL THE DETAILS:

Part 1: BLOODLINE ANCESTORS

Sat Oct 18 @ 10-11:30am PST / 1-2:30pm EST on Zoom

  • Kimiko will share who the Ancestors are and why it’s vital we connect with them. She’ll lead a guided meditation to connect with a family Ancestor for mutual support.

Part 2: CULTURAL ANCESTORS

Sat Oct 25 @ 10-11:30am PST / 1-2:30pm EST on Zoom

  • Carol will encourage us to take our place in cultural and historical legacies. She’ll lead a guided meditation to connect with a cultural/historical Ancestor for mutual support.

Part 2.5: MAKING COLLAGES

Sat Oct 25 - Sat Nov 1 on your own time

  • We’ll have a week to make our own small collage or collages inspired by the bloodline Ancestor and the cultural / historical Ancestors we’ve met. They will be powerful anchors in your Ancestor altar. Give yourself plenty of time to gather your images and create your collage, so that you can bring complete collages/s to share at the final gathering. No collage experience necessary.

Part 3: SHARING COLLAGES

Sat Nov 1 @ 10-11:30am PST / 1-2:30pm EST on Zoom

  • Carol will facilitate a mindful sharing of collages we’ve made in the last week. This is not an art critique! We only reflect what resonates with us as witnesses to each other’s sacred process. Together we’ll celebrate the harvest of creativity and give thanks for the wisdom and power bestowed by the Ancestors.
